Subject	Which daily driver should I get?

Message	I have been thinking about getting a daily driver because I will be moving to San diego where my daily commute will be pretty far to work and back and of course I don't want to put those kind of miles on my TT. Just something cheap Daewoo, Kia ect ect now I would pick on of those because I can get one with a warranty for like 5K, but I have another idea, I have been wanting to take some auto mechanic classes and get into the whole thing so my other option could be to get a 70's model Datsun Z. I guess my question would be could an old Z hold up and be a decently comfortable ride to put miles on like that and how hard are they to work on? Or should i just get something with a warranty for now. Thanks for the read/advise.
